Tammy Dougherty (nee Hess/Coigne)
Born in Manhattan on April 9, 1947, raised in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, at 77. Tammy had the mind of an artist and was most happy when she was being creative. She could do it all, from painting to sewing clothes for her 4 daughters (Often to their chagrin). She was an avid animal lover, filling her home with a menagerie of pets for many years. Tammy was a tough cookie, but she would also give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was resourceful and able to do a lot, with little, which came in handy during her time as a military wife traveling the world with 4 kids. She is survived by a sister Teresa, brother Vincent, her four daughters, Celeste Dee of Bethlehem, PA, Barbara Dunnam, of Buda, TX, Heather Damron (James) of OKC, OK, Nicole Abbott (Timothy) of Gaffney, SC; and 28 Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren, Edward, William, Patrick, Alexandria, Stephanie, Hunter, Christopher, Magnum, Elijah, Brooklyn, Bailey, Jordyn, Isabella, Jaiden, Raiden, Ellie, Aidan, Owen, Mason, Hudson, Regan, Abbie, David, Trever, Luca, Kai, Levi & Axel. Her strength and tenacity will live on within each of them.
A memorial will be held for family and close friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her memory to a charity you are passionate about.
