Steven Mark Henderson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 25, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on August 5, 1958, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Steve embraced life with a passion and joy that touched many.
A proud graduate of Moore High School in 1976, Steve dedicated himself to the ROTC program, where he first cultivated his remarkable sense of responsibility and service. His lifelong love of working on cars and motorcycles led him to a fulfilling career as an auto mechanic for Chevrolet, where he proudly held ASE certification since 1976. Steve’s skilled hands were always busy, mending machines and sharing his extensive knowledge with those around him.
Those who knew Steve will remember him not only for his expertise under the hood but also for his generous spirit. No one ever left his presence without feeling his willingness to lend a hand or offer sage advice. Steve was known for his unwavering readiness to help anyone in need, embodying the very essence of selflessness.
With a vibrant personality, Steve had a strong interest in firearms collecting and shooting. He often attended gun shows, fully immersing himself in the camaraderie of friends within the gunshow and collecting circles. His enthusiasm also extended to motorcycles and car racing, which kept him actively engaged with a community that shared his passions.
As a dedicated family man, Steve leaves behind his loving wife, Susie Henderson. His legacy continues through his son, Bryan Gilles of Midwest City, and his daughter, Brandy Wise of Phoenix, Arizona. He was a proud grandfather to three grandsons, and he cherished every moment spent with his one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. His brothers, David Henderson of Flower Mound, Texas, and Eric Henderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, also mourn the loss of a dear sibling.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Henderson, and his father, Chester Henderson. The absence of his gentle and loving spirit is felt deeply by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on February 17, 2026, at the Chapel at Oklahoma City Cremation. Beginning at 2:00 PM, family and friends will gather to celebrate Steve's life and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him.
