Ronald Eugene Zabel, “Cowboy”
Ron was born on December 29, 1949, in Wickenburg, Arizona, to Harry and Betty Lou Paige Zabel on the Apache Reservation. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. After he was discharged from the Marines, he made his home in McLoud, Oklahoma, with Vera Hudson.
Ron worked laying pipelines for ENE Trans Pipeline until his retirement in 2011. His hobbies included going to the races and collecting NASCAR memorabilia. He loved working in his yard, planting his garden, and decorating his flower beds. His pride and joy was his Hummer.
He is survived by Vera Hudson; his children, Christi and Joe Bennett, and CJ and Jennifer Stevens; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cohesive Hospice, especially Anna, Tresa, Dana, Kelly, and Christie, as well as Christi and CJ for being a big part of Ron’s care.
