Richard Vincent Stuever

Richard Vincent Stuever passed away on August 29, 2017. Richard was born on January 3, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Frances “Frank” Joseph and Glyna (Perona) Stuever. He graduated in 1960 from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Lawton and married Sherry Wright in 1965 with whom he had two children; daughter Keely Stuever-Northup and son Russell Stuever.

 

Richard spent his entire adult life working in the commercial construction industry, and was a well respected superintendent. He oversaw the construction of surgical hospitals, medical complexes, schools, churches, and countless other facilities throughout the state of Oklahoma as well as numerous other areas of the country. He worked hard, was generous to a fault, and had a remarkable sense of humor. He was a legend among men and made a distinct impression on nearly everyone he met.

 

He is survived by his daughter Keely Northup, son-in-law Keith, and grandson Mason of Guthrie; son Russell Stuever of Guthrie; sister Twyla (Stuever Nored) Gordon of Denison, Texas; brother John Stuever of Lawton; brother Greg Stuever of San Diego, California; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Sherry (Wright) Stuever; sister Frances Kay (Stuever Ferris) Goetz; brother Joseph Patton “Pat” Stuever; brother Frances “Frankie” Joseph Stuever; brother Wm. Ben Stuever; and his parents.

 

A reception celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 9th from 1-4pm at Touchmark at Coffee Creek, 2801 Shortgrass Road in Edmond.
