In Loving Memory of Richard Teel Jr. “Pondwater”

Richard Teel Jr., affectionately known as “Pondwater,” was born on June 1, 1954, and passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 72.

Richard was a fun-loving man who never met a stranger. He had a way of connecting with people wherever he went, making friends along the way and leaving behind memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Throughout his working life, Richard worked in sales for a welding supplies company, where he had the opportunity to meet and build relationships with people from all walks of life. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting and motorcycle riding, taking pleasure in the hobbies and experiences that made life special to him.

Many knew him best by his nickname, “Pondwater.” The family joke was that he was slower than pond water, and the nickname became a memorable part of who he was. It was a little piece of family humor that captured his easygoing, fun-loving personality and gave those who knew him another reason to smile.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Teel Sr. and Joyce Teel, and his sister, Kathy Turner.

Richard’s greatest legacy is the family and friendships he leaves behind. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Teel, Tara Scheck and her husband, Kurt Scheck, and Tyler Teel and his wife, Kaye Teel.
