Norma E. Philhower, 90, of Edmond, OK, formerly of Durell, PA and Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 19, 1925 in Elizabeth, NJ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Besides her parents, Norma was predeceased by her husband Charles, sister Brenda Zurine, and her furry companion Maggie.
Norma is survived by her daughter Sandra (Harry) Corby of Victor MT, sons Daniel (Dawn) Philhower of Windham Township, PA, James (Tammy) Philhower of Edmond, OK. Her brother Don (Jen) Schwanda of Hackettstown, NJ, her beloved cousin Ruth (Bob) Best of Hackettstown, NJ. Grandchildren Shawn (Michele) Baran of Frenchtown, NJ, Harry Corby Jr. of Victor MT, Jennifer (Corby Mercer) Corby of Sisters, OR, Daniel (Arianne Allen) Philhower Jr. of Ulster, PA, Andrew (Amy) Philhower of Nichols, NY, Macayla Philhower of Windham Township, PA, Kristin Philhower of Austin, TX, Kelsey (Parker) Swiggart of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1:00 at the Wysox Cemetery (next to the Wysox Presbyterian Church), 22953 Rt. 187, Wysox, PA 18854. Immediately following will be a luncheon at the Windham Township Volunteer Fire Company (39158 Rt. 187, Rome, PA – Windham Township) for anyone who would like to attend to celebrate her life.
