Obituary

Nancy Lee Permenter was born in Norman, Oklahoma, on September 29, 1962, to Tom and Lorecca Blevins.

She attended Norman High School and graduated in 1984. After graduation, she entered the workforce and began building her career. Through several positions, along with prayer and God's direction, she found her calling in the mortgage lending and banking industry. Nancy embraced every opportunity with her whole heart and built a career that would carry her through the rest of her working life.

God truly saved the best for last when He opened the door for Nancy to join First Liberty Bank in Oklahoma City. It was there that her talents were challenged, her gifts were recognized, and she was given every opportunity to grow. Nancy met each challenge with all her heart, mind, and strength, giving everything she had. She left nothing on the table. Along the way, she formed lifelong friendships and found a place where both her talent and her heart were genuinely appreciated.

Nancy was a born-again believer who deeply loved our magnificent Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended Cathedral of Praise in Oklahoma City for many years, faithfully serving in the Helps Ministry. In 2004, the Lord led her to begin attending Victory Christian Center in Oklahoma City. There she continued serving in the Helps Ministry and became involved in many of the church's activities. Little did she know that it would also be there that she would meet the love of her life.

Nancy became engaged to and married Jay C. Permenter of Oklahoma City. Their incredible journey together began on April 29, 2005. Together they embarked on a love story that stood the test of time—the joys and challenges of everyday life, the mountaintops and valleys, and the difficult seasons that inevitably come to us all.

In November 2024, Nancy experienced a health event that eventually led to her early retirement from First Liberty Bank. As Jay and Nancy navigated doctor's appointments, medications, time away from the work she loved, and the uncertainty of what lay ahead, Nancy began a slow decline that ultimately led to her passing on July 4, 2026. She fought courageously against overwhelming odds and never gave up.

Today, Nancy is reunited with those who went before her—her mother, Lorecca Blevins, and her father, Tom Blevins.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jay C. Permenter; her sister, Judy Mitchell of Edmond, Oklahoma; her brother, Stephen Blevins of Arizona; and her sister, Cheryl Blevins of Arizona.

As we remember Nancy today, think of her beautiful smile, her curly hair, her incredible work ethic, and her endearing personality. She loved without judgment and cherished those around her. Her beauty and spirit continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She would ask only that you keep a place for her in your heart and never forget her.

I will miss her forever.

I love you, my Sweet Honey Bunny.
