Mary Kathryn (Rupe) Beavers

Mary Kathryn (Rupe) Beavers departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 20, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Mary Kathryn was born in Horne Town, Oklahoma, on February 29, 1932, to her parents Walker Louis Rupe and Cora (Horne) Rupe. She spent her childhood in Wewoka, Oklahoma, and graduated from Wewoka High School in 1950. 

Mary Kathryn lived in Ohio and Florida before finally settling in northwest Oklahoma City where she lived for more than fifty-five years while working in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Anthony’s Hospital for more than forty years. 

Preceding Mary Kathryn in death were her parents, her two brothers George Walker Rupe and Theodore Curtis Rupe, her sister-in-law Amy Jo (Jordan) Rupe, her nieces Ann Marie (Rupe) Coryell and Sidney Rupe, her nephew James Brian Rupe, and her husband Paul Ezra Beavers. 

Surviving Mary Kathryn are her daughter Cora Suzanne (Beavers) Sinclair, her son Walker Webster Beavers and his wife Susan Elizabeth (Staubach) Beavers, her four grandchildren Shannon Nicole (Sinclair) Davis, Paul Lawrence Beavers, Brittany Elizabeth Beavers, and Bridget Alexandra Beavers, her three great grandchildren Destiny Marie Davis, Nicole Lee Davis, and Natalie Rose Davis, her nephew Theodore Kevin Rupe, and her nieces Patricia Diane (Rupe) McLinn and Laurel Rupe. 

Mary Kathryn had a smile and an encouraging word for everyone she met. All who knew her were touched by her grace, thoughtfulness, and encouraging words. 

Mary Kathryn delighted in reading the Bible, dancing, traveling, and playing cards with her grandchildren. 

Mary Kathryn adored gardening, decorating, and stylishly dressing, winning many awards and accolades. To simply say that Mary Kathryn exercised exceptional taste in making the world a more pleasant place would be a considerable understatement. Many admired her creative talent and her flair for revealing the splendor in everything that she touched. 

Most deeply, Mary Kathryn loved God and his son, Jesus Christ. 

Final resting arrangements have not yet been set. If you wish to celebrate her life and your memories of her, Mary Kathryn requested that you donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
