Martha Carolina Smith

Martha Carolina Smith, (56) of Edmond, Oklahoma, departed this world on May 20th 2026. Martha Carolina was born on May 7th 1970, in Valencia Venezuela to Mercedes Bermudez de Chacin and the late Romulo M. Chacin. In Venezuela Martha began her education career by teaching history. 

When she moved to the United States and Oklahoma City in 2007 she continued her education career by teaching Spanish at Dove Science Academy and Yukon Public schools. During this time she was extremely proud to have earned her Master degree. Martha was also extremely creative and talented. She loved the art of Quilling and taught classes to anyone wanting to learn the art. Martha and her daughter Michelle even had an online store where individuals could order Quilling supplies. Martha was a seeker of knowledge, loved to travel with her husband, and cared deeply for her family, many friends and grandchildren. She loved life and will be greatly missed by all who had the fortune to spend anytime with her. 

She is survived by her husband Gregory Smith, her mother Mercedes Bermudez De Chacin, daughter Michelle Rotelli and husband Steven, grand children Issac, Eden, and Sophia, stepsons Joshua Smith and Justin Clark. Siblings Mary Lena Chacin , Rommer A Chacin, Romulo E Chacin and Adriana Chacin, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Romulo M. Chacin Urbina, her son SPC James T. Wickliff Chacin and sister Belkis M Chacin. Services to be determined.
