Gloria Ann Paulson-Carver

Gloria Ann Paulson-Carver of Chandler, Oklahoma, died at the age of 74, on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 10:04 pm. Gloria lost a long and hard fought battle with dementia. She was surrounded by her family at her time of death.

She was born Gloria Ann Paulson to J. Paulson and Georgia Paulson of Shawnee, Oklahoma where she grew up with her sister Patricia Paulson-Tate. Gloria graduated from Shawnee High School and attended Texas Woman’s University majoring in Dance. She married Don Carver in 1960 and had three beautiful children.

Gloria was a dance teacher and taught dance in Chandler for 13 years at Gloria’s School of Dance.   She also taught in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Chandler, Arizona and Frisco, Texas. She was a member of Dance Masters of America. Gloria retired as a dance teacher at the age of 57 and continued a career as a 911 dispatcher at The Colony Police Department where she worked keeping her community safe for 14 years. After retirement Gloria moved back to Chandler, Oklahoma where she attended Charis Community Church, loved her Senior Citizen Center, and spent time with her family.

Gloria was proceeded in death by her parents and her sister. She is survived by her children: Anita Miller and her husband John Miller, Scott Carver and his wife Dana Carver, and Chere’ Carver and her partner Tamera Maresh-Carver. She has eleven grand children: Jackson Carver, Dylan Carver, Zach Carver, Mason Carver, Kaetlyn Carver-Dickson, Chelsea Threet-Thompson, Joseph Threet, Bradley Waldman, Flossie Miller-Richardson, Billy Miller, and Tim Miller. She has four great grandchildren: Deacon Thompson, Gavin Thompson, Carter Richardson, and Eli Richardson.

Services to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held at Victory Life Church at 1012 E 8th St. Chandler, Oklahoma, 74834, at 11:00 am on Saturday September 10th, 2016. Donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at ALZ.org. Their mission is searching to cure Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
