Elizabeth Sharon Ottke

Elizabeth Sharon Ottke of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 74. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and supporter of her late husband’s passion for the skies.

Born on March 1, 1951, in Cottonport, LA to Charles Fredricks and Marlyse Kapusta-Fredricks, lived a life characterized by kindness, strength, and love. Elizabeth and her husband, Norbert Ottke, shared 39 years of marriage. Their marriage was filled with love and many shared adventures in their airplane. Norbert and his co-pilot are flying high above with a different set of wings now.

Elizabeth was known for her love of traveling, music, cooking, and jewelry. She is survived by her children, Keith Ottke and Sharon Kurtz; son-in-law Tony Kurtz; and grandchildren Lathan Ottke, AJ Kurtz, and Ace Kurtz. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, who passed away in 2011, as well as her parents and her brother, Charlie Fredricks.

Funeral will be 12:30 pm, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Darien, IL. The Ottke family will receive friends beginning at 12 pm. Interment to follow at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
