Edward D Banks

Edward D. Banks, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Edmond, OK on November 21, 2025. Ed was born February 17, 1947 in Kansas City, KS to Edward D. Banks, Sr. and Etna Maudean (Griffin Banks) Travis. He proudly served for the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam Conflict; first on the Destroyer USS Perkins and later on a PBR Base. Ed graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology and later received a Computer Aided Drawing certificate. He worked for General Motors for 11 years and later worked as an industrial chemist for a variety of manufacturers before he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula, and sons, Richard (Emilee) Banks of Edmond, OK and James (Xiaoqi Ye) of Newcastle, WA, and grandson, Alexander Banks of Kirkland, WA. He is also survived by his sister, Susan (Glenn) Watson and numerous other family members and friends. Ed wished to be cremated. A private memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
