Dustin Joseph Tate, beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on November 28, 2025. Born December 30, 1976, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, Dustin grew up surrounded by a family who loved his charm, humor, and unforgettable smile. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1995, forming friendships and memories that lasted throughout his life.
He is survived by his mother, Teresa Murphy Simpson; his father, Gerald Allen Tate; his three beautiful daughters, Karlee Aryn Tate, Rachel Blair Tate, and Natalee Marie Tate; and his sister, Ashley Rene Harroz.
Dustin was charismatic, funny, and naturally gifted at making others feel welcome. He had impeccable taste in music and loved being outdoors and spending time at the lake or near any beach—the places where he felt most at peace. A devoted Oklahoma Sooners fan, he cheered them on with unwavering enthusiasm.
Professionally, Dustin excelled in the restaurant industry. He rose quickly through management, becoming the youngest General Manager in Brinker International’s history at the young age of 26. He later served as a General Manager and shareholder of BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, where he earned the distinction of GM of the Year. His leadership, work ethic, and ability to connect with people were hallmarks of his success.
Dustin faced significant struggles in the later years of his life, but those who loved him hold tightly to the memories of his vibrant, funny, and talented spirit. His daughters remain the greatest gift he gave to the world and to his family, a lasting reminder of the joy, laughter, and love he shared in better days. While his journey ended too soon, the legacy he leaves in Karlee, Rachel, and Natalee is full of hope and resilience. Through them, the world will continue to feel the goodness and light that were once so strongly his.
A private family memorial will be held in Dustin’s honor. Friends and loved ones are invited to share messages or fond memories for Dustin’s daughters on the message board, so they may always know the good, the joy, and the light that their father once brought into the world.
May he be remembered with grace, love, and the warmth he once gave so freely.
