Donna Blocksom Cram Moler

Donna Blocksom Cram went peacefully to her Lord Father on July24, 2018. Donna was born January 2, 1929 in Amarillo, Texas. Her father John Cram was a landman and scout for the Continental Oil Company. Later her family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma where Donna and her brother Jack grew up. Donna attended Ponca City Senior High School. She was a very beautiful, fun loving and popular young lady. Donna was also a High School Cheerleader, Football Queen of 46, and summer lifeguard at the Ponca City parks swimming pool.

In 1947, Donna attended the University of Oklahoma for three years. Our near claim to fame was she went out with a very young James Garner for a brief time, (the one that got away)! Donna left OU to marry local Ponca City businessman Fred Bowker in 1950. Their first son John Frederick was born in 1951, followed by Shelley Elizabeth in 1954. The family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where Christopher Bryan was born in 1958. Fred died at a very young age in 1959 leaving Donna a widow with three children. Donna took on college students as boarders to earn income and worked in the local hospital. As she visited her parents in Oklahoma City she was introduced to Ed Moler, whom made numerous visits to Albuquerque to court Donna. Donna later packed up the children and moved back to Oklahoma City in 1963 and married Edward H. Moler in June of 1964. Ed immediately adopted all three children as he continued a prosperous law career while Donna managed the home. Donna and Ed were married for 52 years.

Donna is preceded in Death by her parents John and Betty Cram. Her beloved husband Edward died March 18, 2016. She is survived by her three children John, Shelley and Chris, and grandsons Christian and Carson Moler, and brother Jack Cram, his wife Janet Cram and daughters Carol and Marianne and their families as well as Carey Karlan (Moler) and Carey’s five children and two grandchildren.

Donna was a very active member of All Souls Episcopal Church and the Guild of St. George. She volunteered in several capacities over the years including Mobile Meals and the Junior League.

Donna’s remains will be entombed next to her husband Edward in the All Souls Sanctuary at a private family gathering followed by a celebration of life at her home. The date is TBA. In lieu of flowers the family has requested you make a contribution in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association and Dementia research.
