Dawn Sherrie Lang Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Wife, and Friend
Dawn Sherrie (Grizzle) Lang was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at South Community Hospital, now known as Integris Southwest. She attended Traub Elementary School - a path later followed by each of her children - before going on to Jarman Junior High and Midwest City High School. Though she did not graduate traditionally, Dawn’s determination led her to proudly earn her GED later in life. In her youth, Dawn was known for her vibrant spirit and popularity, something her family discovered anew through the cherished letters and notes she kept behind photos of longtime friends. These tokens spoke volumes about the love and connections she carried with her throughout her life.
Dawn was a light in the darkest of times - the kind of smile that could cut through a room full of sorrow. She cherished time spent with family above all else. Whether she was exploring parks hand-in-hand with her grandson Keaton or simply sitting by the lakeside taking in the peace of nature, she found joy in the simple, meaningful moments. Her love was unwavering, her presence comforting, and her strength immeasurable. To those who knew her, she was not only the best woman they’d ever met, but the best mother, the best grandmother, and the best wife anyone could ever hope to have in their life.
She is survived by husband, Keith W. Lang Sr., her loving mother, Barbara A. Grizzle; her sons, Kyle W. Reese and Daniel L. Reese; her daughters, AshleyAnn K. Reese and Emily M. Geaslin; son Keith W. Lang Jr. her brother, Kevin D. Grizzle, along with his children and grandchildren; and her beloved grandchildren, Keaton L. C. Geaslin, Olive J. Lang, and Brody W. Lang., Along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends.
Dawn is preceded in death by her father, Danny L. Grizzle; her grandmothers, Aleta M. Ingram and Cordie M. Grizzle; and her grandfathers, Luther L. Ingram (affectionately known as Grandpa Loco) and Denny E. Grizzle.
It goes without saying: Dawn will be missed deeply and dearly by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
