Dave grew up in a small town, Argos, IN. He started golf at an early age and excelled in Junior golf in the Midwest. Dave attended SMU, Dallas, TX, on a golf scholarship. He traveled with the team and was honored as a captain of the golf team. After turning pro, Dave’s first job was an Assistant Golf Professional at Las Colinas Golf and Country Club and he loved every minute of it. He fell in love with teaching and opened The Golf Academy in Irving, TX. He met his wife, Traci, there and they married and had one son, Michael. He then opened The Dave Hampton Golf Schools and instructed public group and private lessons. After moving to Edmond, OK, Dave retired and supported his son in school and golf. This was his favorite job. Dave enjoyed playing family golf, watching pro football, live music concerts, bad Dad jokes, writing the annual “off-color” annual Christmas letter, and being with family and friends. Dave accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, confirmed Catholic, and enjoyed going to mass.
