Darnelle Elaine Hendrix (Ruschmeyer) passed away on November 15, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born and raised in Stewart, Minnesota on January 28, 1930 she is the daughter of Adolph and Gertrude Ruschmeyer (Sell). After graduating high school Darnelle went to the University of Minnesota where she got her bachelors in Nursing. She went on to join the United States Air Force in 1952 where she worked her way up to a 1st Lieutenant Staff Nurse. Darnelle was preceded in death by her parents, and brother in law Roger Peterson. She leaves behind son Sam Hendrix; daughters Kathleen Hendrix, and Shirley Allen; sisters Tynee (Elna) Peterson, Donna Mills, husband Jim; brother Orlando (Ole) Ruschmeyer, wife Gloria; grandson James Wesley Allen. Final interment will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery.

Dear Sam, Kathleen and Shirley, I was so sorry to hear about your mom. She was a good friend to my mom for a lot of years and I know my mom missed her when they moved. She became my friend too. I will miss our long phone conversations. Rest In Peace Darnell.
