"Oh, death, where is thy sting? Oh, grave, where is thy victory?"

It was on the glorious day of Thursday, August 28th, 2025, that our beloved Dale Roy Conklin busted God's heaven wide open and ran straight into the waiting arms of his Eternal Savior and best friend, Jesus. "Precious in the eyes of The LORD is the death of His saints, GLORY HALLELUJAH!!!"

Precious son of Gene and Rose Conklin and Roy Lantz, Sr. and beloved husband of Katie Conklin, Dale was born in Logansport, Indiana on December 12th, 1957. Knowing early in his life that he wanted to serve his country, he entered military active duty in the U.S. Army, 8th Cavalry on January 17th, 1975 at Indianapolis, Indiana. OH-6, OH-58 helicopter and fixed-wing pilot, med-evac pilot, Army Ranger, and Army sharpshooter, he absolutely delighted in anything that went fast or went BOOM. During his service in Vietnam, Germany, and various Asian and Mediterranean theaters, he was awarded the First Class Hand Grenade, the Aircraft Crewman Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Sharpshooter M16 and .38 Caliber Pistol Categories. After three years of distinguished active service, Dale was honorably discharged from the military on January 16th, 1978, remaining in the Army Reserve for the next two years. Due to ill health, he retired in 2007 from a career in manufacturing and corrections.

Dale is survived by his wife Katie of the home; daughters Toby and Jamie of Logansport, Indiana; son Robert of Tulsa, Oklahoma; stepson Colin of Edmond, Oklahoma; and stepson Ryan of Owasso, Oklahoma; mother Rose Conklin, sister Debra, and brother Ronald Gene, Jr., all of Logansport; sister Rosie of Peru, Indiana; brother Roy of Peru, and brother Kevin of Seymour, Indiana; grandchildren Ashly, Jessica, Chavona, and Daniel; Christopher, Arizona, and Noah; Suzanne, R.J., Tommy, and Nova, and Anastasia; nieces and nephews Tony and Scotty; Bub, Brandy, and Crystal; Shannon, Diana, Andrew, and Shane; and Ronnie, Nick, Tanner, and Adam.

In heaven, Dale joins his dad Gene Conklin; his father Roy Lantz, Sr.; sister Judy; infant brother Lester; brother Frank; late wife Robin (mother of his children); and daughter Debi.

We will ALWAYS love you, angel, and you will forever be the love of Katie's life until she takes her last breath on this earth. Rest easy in Jesus's arms, where you will never suffer again. We know we'll see you again, and we can't wait!
