“Cheri Jean Bell” Porterfield, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away December 31st, 2021. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma on July 1st, 1946 by Johnny Lovin and Mary LeJean Rowlett. In 1953, she and her brother were adopted and raised by Monte and Jean Bell. She graduated from Ada High School. Cheri dedicated her life and career to caring for others in the nursing field, as well as working over 30 years in elderly care centers across the Oklahoma City area. She loved serving the elderly. She will be dearly missed and live forever in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Monte Bell and Jean Spencer. She is survived by her brother Terry Bell and wife Sheila, brother Berry Bell and wife Terry, sister Kerri McCaskill and husband Keith, daughter Kristy Russell and husband Richard, daughter Tracy Gibson, son Richard Porterfield, daughter Monica Porterfield, grandchildren Amber Meier, Taylor Reed, Ashley Oliver, Kyle Oliver, Brady Porterfield, Brittany Piatt, Jose Suarez, Croix Covington, Laelle Covington, and great-grandchildren Kaylee Meier, Kenzie Meier, Kingstin Meier, and Maverick P., as well as 7 nieces and nephews and their families.
Cheri requested that her friends and family celebrate her life rather than mourn her death. She wanted to encourage everyone she knows to enjoy life to their fullest. A family service will be held at a later date.
