Charles David Harris

Born in Oklahoma City to Charlie W. and Lucile Harris, he graduated from Oklahoma City Central High School in 1945, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Saugus, LSV-4, attended O.U. and O.C.U. In August 1949, he married Jessie Johnson. They were married 64 years. Charles is survived by two children; Linda Bailey and Marsha Payne, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie and his son, Charles Jr. He taught Sunday School for over 40 years in various Baptist churches, including eleven years at Baptist Village Retirement Center. His final teaching position was at Kelham Baptist Church where he was baptized in 1937. A memorial service celebrating his departure into heaven will be held at Kelham Baptist Church, 3400 N. Meridian at 10:00AM Friday May 29th. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Kelham Baptist Church properties committee or Integris Hospice House, 13920 Quailbrook Dr., Oklahoma City, OK 73134.
