Obituary

Celia Marie Checotah was born September 16th, 1965, in Oklahoma City. She was called home on October 29th, 2026.

Celia, who everyone knew as "Pookie," has lived in Oklahoma her entire life. She attended Northeast High School. After high school, she married and had two children. Pookie divorced young, but many years later she married Cedric "Pane" Douglas. Pookie and Pane remained close friends after their separation, and he still refers to her as the "First Lady."

Pookie never remarried but fell for Daryl "Pup" Williams, who they both shared their love for their fur baby Jazzy. While with Pup, her daughter and kids shared so many great memories that will always be remembered.

Pookie was well known for her acts of kindness, being good with her hands and her ability to lose it all over and over again and get it right back. IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW!

Pookie was fearless and a force to be reckoned with. When Pookie did sit down, she enjoyed cooking and cleaning and turning trash into treasure, as she could take something old and make it brand new again.

Up until her passing, she lived with Kelly, who she called "Pimp," who has been there for her in sickness and in health. Pookie received a lot of love because she gave a lot of love, but there was no person in the world more special to her than her daughter (Monkey).

Pookie leaves behind her children, Danny and Danielle Checotah; grandchildren, Carlo, Trinity, Cache ,Khloe, Jewel, Ceyiah'king Noah, Nyla; sisters, Cortez, Angie, Pat, Lynn, and Barbara; and brother Kevin, all of Oklahoma City. Pookie was raised by her father Leroy Mckissick who preceeded her in death many years ago
