Anthony Wayne Guthrie

Anthony Wayne Guthrie was born in OKC on January 19, 1960. He left this world after a brief struggle with cancer on December the 23rd, 2016. His parents were Bettie and Ed Knox. He was survived by his mother Bettie Knox (he called her “My Best Girl”, his sister and brother-in-law Lisa and James Bettencourt, 3 nieces and nephews and a bunch of great nieces and nephews. He also left behind 4 children who loved him dearly, Matthew, Mariah, Madison and Wyatt, and 10 grandchildren to boot!

He worked the better part of his life in the oilfields of Oklahoma and had spent the last 15 years of his life with his work family Payne Exploration.

For recreation he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was very proud of the years it took him to get his garden “just right”.

He loved Lake Eufala and his boat 2nd best after his family.

He and Paco (his dog who moved in shortly after we did and is reaching the end of his years) were best friends and the kids say he mimicked Anthony.

Anthony was cremated and his ashes will be spread on the lake that he so loved.

His children have requested  a “wake” so we are having a memorial to celebrate his life and share personal stories about him at his home in Crescent on Jan 7, 2017. Visitors are free to come and go from noon to 6.

He is also memorialized on the web at Oklahomacitycremation.com

If you can’t attend the memorial you can sign the guestbook and leave comments there.
